Tailors & Cobblers

As the holiday season gets into full swing, most of us will likely find that our dresses, suits and slacks may be getting a little…snug. Sure, you can take advantage of deals at area stores, or you can save a bit of money and get some simple alterations done. That expensive suit or dress can pay off for years if you have it tailored.

A pair of good shoes or a well-crafted outfit is an investment, too. A torn sole or broken heel is no reason to discard a perfectly good set of footwear, so why not take it to a local cobbler for a quick and inexpensive repair?

Most bridal boutiques, large department stores and men’s clothing shops offer in-house alterations with the purchase of a dress, suit, slacks or sport coat. However, if you’d rather go somewhere else, consider the local businesses on the list below.

Ellie has since tackled many facets of the field including books, magazines and the Web at places like The Knot and Reader's Digest. She now works full time in book publishing, and is thrilled to get her wedding fix with WedInMilwaukee.com.
