Milwaukee wedding planner: The Bride Consultant

My name is Amanda Schlagenhauf and I am the owner of The Bride Consultant. Over the past few years, I have realized that almost every bride planning her wedding has a clear idea of what she is hoping for her (+ her fiancé’s) big day. However, she doesn’t always know how to make that dream a reality. My goal is to take each bride’s vision for her wedding and not just make it a reality, but make it even better and more memorable. In order to accomplish this, I follow a simple framework:

1. Get to know the Bride and Groom. Understand their personalities and what they like and don’t like. At the end of the day, this is what makes each wedding unique.

2. Listen to all ideas. This is the couple’s big day, not mine. Every idea will be taken into consideration and incorporated.

3. Work with vendors. Weddings can be stressful, but I want to take away that stress away from the bride and groom so that they can enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime planning process. I will be the liaison between the bride and the vendors, and take charge of all the logistics behind the big day.

Unlike some other vendors, I want to make a personal connection with every bride and understand everything that she and her groom want. I want to meet with the bride over coffee or for brunch, and get to know her on a personal level so that I can be their main confidant for their wedding.

When I did my first wedding, everything happened very naturally. The bride would come to me with decisions or questions, such as: “I am debating between these two ideas, what do you think?” or “I want to do this, how should we do it?” I was very honest with the bride, and would say what I thought would work, what wouldn’t, and what was going to look the best in her specific venue. I fell in love with the planning process. The day ended up being perfect, and I know that the couple wishes they could replay that day over and over again. Afterwards, I decided to submit the wedding to Style Me Pretty. We were all so excited when the wedding was chosen to be featured! This validation helped to give me the push I needed to become the Bride Consultant.

A wedding will be a day that you remember forever, and I want to help make that memory as perfect as the couple!
