As a bride-to-be, with two engaged best friends and an engaged identical twin sister, I’m always looking for creative gift ideas for weddings and bridesmaids. Needless to say, I was very excited when I met Emily of Lemon Curd Designs. She has always wanted to start her own company, and now creates custom products perfect for a unique wedding gift.

“Lemon Curd Designs was started out of a passion for homemade items, vintage finds & culinary delights,” Emily says. “I wanted to help others create spaces around them that are unique to their lives.”

Emily creates unique burlap baskets in three different sizes: small (8″ wide x 8″ tall), medium (12″ wide x 8 1/2″ tall) and long (19″ long x 4″ wide x 4″ tall). While these baskets can be used for a variety of purposes, Emily shares her top tips for creating a special gift for your bridesmaids.

    1. Day-off kit: Fill a basket with goodies for the wedding day. Include nail polish, hand cream, comfortable flip flops or slippers (for relief during all that dancing), foot scrub, foot lotion, etc.

    2. Hair care kit: These baskets make great storage for all your hair products in the bathroom. Fill each with your bridesmaid’s favorite shampoo, hairspray, new hair brush, etc.

    3. Customized kits: If one bridesmaid loves coffee, fill the basket with a pound of local coffee and a nice travel mug. If another girl loves wine, fill with a wine opener, wine charms and a couple bottles of wine.

“These baskets are so unique,” Emily says. “Once the wedding is over the bridesmaids can use them for storage or decor in their home.”

If you aren’t fond of burlap, the baskets can also be made in another fabric. One option is to use a “keepsake” fabric such as your mom’s wedding dress, or an old high school sweatshirt for that bridesmaid you’ve grown up with. The possibilities are endless!

Custom orders are available and products can be purchased online or at the Wauwatosa Farmer’s Market on August 3, 2013.

What great ideas! The baskets look wonderful, too. It’s hard to find unique ideas and it looks like you are very creative.

Nice creation…. I love it and will definitely try it. I am also a very creative person and looking for great and unique gift ideas. Last month I gave a crystal plate with engraving our wedding date and wedding photo to my husband and the occasion was our wedding anniversary.

I have 2 of them. One holds all my hair products/lotions and I keep one in the car and love it for tossing in sunglasses, tissue, parking ramp card key, snacks, cell, etc.
    Gift idea are endless.
