When planning their wedding, this bride and groom wanted to put a special focus on their ceremony, a full Catholic Mass. A priest friend from the University of Notre Dame, where they met, was an officiant, and they asked the church children’s choir to sing.

The effort paid off: “Although the reception was amazing,” says Lindsay, “the ceremony just meant so much to us and our families.” Personal touches reigned at the reception, too, including the cookie bar — a wedding tradition in Pittsburgh, Tim’s hometown — where guests could load up takeout boxes of sweet and salty treats.

Looking back, Lindsay and Tim have nothing but praise for each of their wedding details. From their first look to the last dance, the day was exactly as they’d pictured it: joyful and bright.

By the end of high school, Ellie Martin Cliffe was completely enamored of journalism, so she chose the most logical college major possible: anthropology. Disappointed by the minimal emphasis on writing and editing, she changed tracks and earned a comm degree from Carroll College. Ellie has since tackled many facets of the field including books, magazines and the Web at places like The Knot and Reader's Digest. She now works full time in book publishing, and is thrilled to get her wedding fix with WedInMilwaukee.com. When she isn’t wielding her (red) pen, Ellie can be found in the garden, at any concert that showcases a fiddle, playing pub trivia or in the kitchen. She and her husband live in Riverwest with their hedgehog, Guinness, and grapefruit tree, Sprout.

Please do not use Kim Bernarski Anderson (KB Image Photography) for your wedding! I would be more than happy to share her work and her emails to me with anyone interested. She was highly unqualified to shoot our wedding and produced a product that had poor composition, quality, and lighting. We took the images to other professionals who were appalled by her work. In addition, when we requested a meeting to discuss any editing she at first accomodated us by scheduling us weeks out, but then cancelled the morning of because she said she couldn’t “cater to my sensitivities.” Overall a complete lack of professionalism, experience, and provided one of the worst experiences I could imagine.
