When Noah first met Rachel while the two were living in New York City, he took advantage of something they share in common when he asked her out: their height. “He said, ‘Hey, you’re tall….I’m tall…we should go to dinner sometime!’ It worked!” the couple recalls.
Clearly, they hit it off, and when it came time to plan their wedding, they opted for Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin. “We choose the venue due to the amazing panoramic views from all sides of the Pilot House on the top of the building,” says the couple, who now lives in Chicago. “We also felt it was a unique space—we had our cocktail hour in the aquarium with the fish!” It was a feature the guests loved.
Also a hit with friends and family was a designated photo area, which was complete with splashy Cinco de Mayo-themed props to honor the date of their contemporary wedding. “It’s a great alternative way to see everyone who was at the wedding, without doing table shots,” say Rachel and Noah. “We’re planning to make a smaller photo album that includes all the great pictures!”
“As a couple, we love to incorporate our friends and family into our daily lives,” explain the newlyweds, who still savor the day’s opportunities to spend quieter moments with loved ones, especially the time at the salon and their wedding party photo shoot. “Our wedding was everything we asked for and more. It was amazing!”
